Manus AI is like having a smart, independent teammate who knows what you want and just runs with it. Unlike typical AI tools that need detailed instructions for every step, Manus can understand the goal, make a plan, and carry it out from start to finish—no constant supervision required. It’s built to handle tasks that normally take a lot of back-and-forth or manual effort, whether managing a workflow, solving a problem, or creating something new. By handling the heavy lifting makes you move faster, makes decisions more easily, and focuses on the bigger picture.
In this tutorial, we’ll introduce Manus and its interface and show you how to use it with a live example. You will learn how to access Manus, explore the features, explore everyday use cases, and access results and files.
By the end of this tutorial, you’ll be able to:
- Access Manus AI
- Explore the features
- Explore everyday use cases
- Access results and files
Let’s get started right away!
Access Manus AI
Navigate to Manus and click ‘Get Started.’ You can also access it directly by going to manus.im/app.

It’s a familiar interface. Most AI chatbots have this simple interface. However, Manus has an additional feature that helps you with your project. Click the ‘Explore use cases’ at the bottom of the page. A list of popular use cases will be displayed. Choose the one that is similar to your project.

Click any use case. We selected the ‘online retail analysis’ web page in our example. Click ‘View space.’

It will show you a webpage generated by Manus. Instead of developing a document, you can tell Manus to build a webpage filled with your supplied data. The webpage looks professional and can be shared easily.

Explore the features
Apart from the standard features, Manus gives free credits every day. A free plan has 1000 credits, and 300 credits are provided daily. That’s enough for a big project.

A free plan user can only use the Standard model. The ‘High effort’ model requires a subscription. Manus high-effort model is an autonomous AI system that independently executes complex multi-step tasks with minimal human input. The model maintains context over extended interactions, demonstrates adaptive reasoning capabilities, and delivers thorough results with attention to detail. Unlike conventional AI systems requiring continuous prompting, Manus can interact with websites, analyze data, create visualizations, and generate content autonomously while learning from user feedback to improve performance. The high-effort model is a high-end AI agent that performs tasks requiring higher GPU usage.

Another interesting feature is knowledge. Knowledge enables Manus to learn your preferences and task-specific best practices and automatically recall relevant knowledge when needed. Up to 20 entries are supported. To access Knowledge, click the light bulb icon in the screen's bottom left corner.

To add a knowledge entry, click ‘Add Knowledge’ and enter the name, purpose and the content of the knowledge. Think of it as a system prompt you can configure before executing a task.
Quick Tip: You can add a negative prompt in the knowledge module to the system to prevent things you don’t want Manus to execute during a project run.

Another cool feature is example prompts. By clicking the prompts that appear right below the prompt box, you can get an example prompt for popular projects that most people search for in Manus.

Of course, you can edit the prompt to include whatever information you want to provide. It’s just a small tool to help you get started.
Explore common use cases.
One of the most intriguing features of Manus is its library of use cases. It offers a collection of projects and initiatives you can explore to clarify your own ideas, find inspiration, or simply browse for fun.
Access use cases by clicking ‘Explore use cases’ at the bottom of the main prompt page. A recommended list of use cases pops up.

As mentioned earlier, you can click the ‘View space’ or ‘Replay’ to learn more about the project. The ‘Replay’ button actually shows you the entire thinking process Manus did to generate an answer.
If you want to find more, click ‘Explore more use cases’ at the end of the project display module.

Access results and files
You can freely download the answer to your query as a document or code, depending on the nature of the output. Let’s say you want to find out the number of Python development jobs in your area. You use the following prompt:
Prompt:
Find open Python development jobs in the Greater Toronto area that are actively seeking candidates. List jobs that offer $80,000 or more per year.

You can access the result in the right pane. Manus did a fantastic job collecting job postings in the Greater Toronto Area. You can download the PDF by clicking the download button at the top right corner of the generated PDF.

If you want to view all the files that Manus created during the task's execution, click the icon next to the ‘Share’ icon.

It will list all the files used to answer your prompt. You can download individual files here.

That’s it for this tutorial. Manus is an excellent tool that doesn’t wait for prompt inputs. It determines what you require and creates the exact answer you need. Unlike other chatbots, Manus is great for researching complex information, finding jobs, data analysis and other multi-layered tasks.
